Bobby Carpenter (born August 1, 1983 in Lancaster, Ohio) is an American football linebacker in the National Football League, drafted from Ohio State University by the Dallas Cowboys with the 18th pick in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
He is the son of former New York Giants running back Rob Carpenter. Rob is also one of the great players from Miami University a school known for producing football coaches. Bobby has three younger brothers, Jonathan (a football player at the University of Cincinnati), Georgie and Nathan.
Carpenter appeared in the video for country music song "Hey Cowboy" by Kathryn Whetstone as a shirtless stable lad.
High School
Carpenter attended Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Ohio. In addition to being a football standout, Carpenter was also a member of the swim team. During his senior year, Carpenter was selected as All-Ohio first team (football), and also went to the District Finals in swimming. Following Ohio State, Carpenter worked out at D1 Sports Training in Nashville, TN.
